The ‘Further Training for Swiss Post’ Project is the Winner in the Corporate/Private Category
At the ECDL Foundation Forum 2012, held in Oslo, Norway, the entry submitted by ECDL Switzerland was voted to be an outstanding example of best practice in the Corporate/Private category.
ECDL Foundation, the certifying authority for the world’s leading international computer skills certification programme, ECDL / ICDL, established the Best Practice Awards to acknowledge and credit initiatives and projects that are considered as exceptional examples of the implementation of ECDL Foundation programmes that help to raise levels of digital literacy, and promote ECDL / ICDL in local markets.
The Corporate/Private category highlights innovative projects and initiatives that led to noticeable improvements in the levels of digital literacy amongst private sector workers. These enhanced digital skills improve the job mobility of employees, and contribute positively to the overall efficiency of the organisations for which they work.
The 2012 winner in the Corporate/Private category was ECDL Switzerland for their project that details how ECDL certification has raised the ICT skill levels of Swiss Post employees, including those who do not use a computer in their role, and has therefore contributed significantly improved services, and to staff retention.
This year the ECDL Foundation Best Practice Awards ceremony was attended by ICT professionals and digital literacy policy shapers, representing national computer societies and international organisations in 148 countries around the world.
The runner-up in this category was ICDL Sri Lanka.
There are three other categories for the ECDL Foundation Best Practice Awards, and this year’s winners in these categories are:
Government/Public – ICDL Colombia, Social Inclusion – ICDL Jordan, and Marketing & Public Relations – ICDL Korea.
